“Lock up your libraries if you like; but there is no gate, no lock, no bolt that you can set upon the freedom of my mind.” Considered as one of the classics of twentieth century feminist literature, The Room of One’s Own is a book-length essay written by Virginia Woolf. Delineating the basic requirements of a woman to write, the author incorporates detailed revelations of the various power structures that stop a woman to excel and elucidate her creative capabilities. Illustrating the importance of women’s literacy through a fictional character named Judith Shakespeare, The Room of One’s Own encourages women to rise above patriarchal monotony and set a unique literary tradition of their own!

Ayesha the return of she [hardcover] H. Rider Haggard
In “Ayesha, the Return of She,” the story continues as Ayesha, an immortal and powerful queen, is brought back to life through ancient magic. The narrative follows the characters drawn into her world, including the protagonist Leo Vincey and his companion, Holly. Ayesha’s powers, beauty, and commanding presence make her a compelling and complex figure in the novel. H. Rider Haggard is known for his adventure and fantasy novels, and the Ayesha series falls into this category, blending elements of adventure, romance, and the supernatural. The series has been influential in the fantasy and adventure genres and is often regarded as a classic of early 20th-century fiction. If you enjoy adventure novels with elements of fantasy, particularly stories that explore themes of immortality, power, and the mysteries of ancient civilizations, “Ayesha, the Return of She” by H. Rider Haggard is a novel that may be of interest. It delves into the mystique of the character Ayesha and her enduring appeal. Please note that my knowledge is based on information available up to September 2021, and I may not have information on any recent developments related to this specific novel.

Classic Fiction, Fiction, literary fiction, Literature & Fiction, Non-fictionFive Weeks in a Balloon [hardcover] Jules Verne
A journey of discovery by three Englishmen in Africa: Five Weeks in a Balloon by Jules Verne, published in 1863. Readers get a peek at the discovery of Africa in this book, which was still mostly unknown to Europeans at the time. The mission of Samuel Fergusson aims to connect the expeditions of Heinrich Barth in the Sahara and Chad with those of Sir Richard Burton and John Hanning Speke in East Africa. Although it is truly a savanna, the novel refers to the uncharted interior of Africa around the present-day Central African Republic as a desert. Starting in Zanzibar, the journey continues through Agadez, Timbuktu, Djenné, Lake Victoria, Lake Chad, and Ségou.Finding the source of the Nile was a major goal of the early expedition. Bringing together the other explorers is the second leg. There are several action-packed sequences that either feature a battle with a local or one with the environment

Hiraeth By Sudha Dipak (PaperBack)
Most of Sudha Dipak’s poems are epiphanies at different stages of her life. Years ago, her very close friend, Meenaxi Verma had suggested her to give words to her thoughts. Procrastination took years, and she slipped in her comfort zone. A chance of writing reviews of two books authored by Dr. Vimal Kalia gave her desired push. Nisha Luthra, Founder and Director of THE NARRATORS appreciated the simplicity of her poems and took it upon herself to get them published. Her family and friends supported her in her new journey. Parallel runs many unsatiated longings that we dare to address, that is the title of her book, “HIRAETH”.
